Mary Maguire

After a longtime career in New York City, working everywhere from Condé Nast magazines to Ralph Lauren, from Random House to The Muppets, Mary Maguire settled in Connecticut and set up a painting studio overlooking Whalebone Creek. There, in a studio that was long ago the general store and post office of the town, she paints a wide array of subjects, inspired by images from the 17th to the 19th century – from animals to architecture, from natural history to portraiture, and very often nautical subjects, inspired by her time growing up on the coast of New England. Mary Maguire’s work has appeared in Architectural Digest, Vogue, Elle Decor, Veranda, House Beautiful and other publications

Idoline Duke

On her work and life as an artist, Idoline Duke says: “I work primarily in watercolor and mixed media on paper, and my inspirations are ocean and forest creatures, flowers, found objects, and big expanses of water and sky. I’m in love with the beauty and mysteries of the natural world and with the intimate process of capturing its spirit. That shows up in everything I do. If I am succeeding as an artist my observers and collectors feel that connection and fall in love too.”

Idoline currently lives and works in The Springs on the East End of Long Island.
